love or hate

In Holland they are the ones who have it easy. Dutch women take the initiative without a problem, not only can they ask you out but they are even capable of daring to propose marriage.

In Sweden it's more or less the same.

If this romance thing depends on specific cultural reasons, I'm sure more than one would be happy to replicate the Swedish and Dutch conditions here.

Amsterdam, Netherlands - April 10, 2018: Hundreds of padlocks (called love locks) in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Locks as promises to loved ones on the Kloveniersburgwal/Staalstraat bridge.

Something that stands out about the Dutch is that they are very friendly and good to talk to strangers. Also, they don't go out of their way to walk down the streets, they are very relaxed and practical with fashion. The men, in my opinion, care more than the girls.

Reasons to live and work in the Netherlands

Holland is one of the countries that if you visit, you won't want to go back. If there is one thing that characterizes it, it is its extensive cultural variety.
There are many European countries that offer great job opportunities, however, Holland is one of the most demanded destinations to work. This is undoubtedly due to the lifestyle of its people, its open-mindedness,

To work in the Netherlands you do not need to know the Dutch language. If you can speak English you are almost all the way there.

The minimum wage for 2018 in the Netherlands is almost €1,600 per month. This amounts to more than €19,000 per year, compared to €10,300 in Spain.

People in dutch

The Netherlands is ranked fifth in the World Hapiness Report. So Dutch people are happy, but they love to complain. However this is not in a serious way.

When Dutch people meet for the first time they shake hands. The handshake should be made with the right hand and should be firm (without squashing the other’s hand) and short.

You should always keep an eye on the time and make sure you are present at the agreed time.

That means not too early and not too late.
If you are delayed, it is appreciated and seen as good manners to call.

Everywhere you go you will see bikes.

Outside train stations, in the city centre, outside supermarkets and so on. Some people have more than one bike.

Culinary Netherlands

Traditional Dutch cuisine is not very diverse. It’s very simple and straightforward. The traditional Dutch meal consists of a lot of vegetables with a little meat.

Breakfast typically consists of a slice of bread with various toppings like different cheeses, peanut butter, treacle, and chocolate spread.

While lunch can include the same foods as breakfast, often times there will be sandwiches with different cold cuts and cheeses – Gouda, Edam, and Leyden.

Dinners in the Netherlands are typically a two or three-course meal consisting of soup as an appetizer, potatoes with a large portion of vegetables and a small portion of meat as the main course, and pastries or cookies for dessert.

The Netherlands is famous for its cheese. Gouda, Edam, and Leyden are known worldwide, and Alkmaar is a town famous for its cheese market.
